The Coastal Prairie Conservancy has been the proud recipient of numerous awards, recognitions, and accreditations for conservation efforts in southeast Texas over the past 30 years. As a regional leader in land conservation, the Coastal Prairie Conservancy is grateful for the partnership of many organizations that have helped support our mission to preserve the Texas Coastal Prairie for all to enjoy.

2022 - Better Business Bureau Awards for Excellence Winner of Distinction

2019 - Virtually Wild! Texas was awarded the Forestry Innovation Award. Awarded by the Texas Forestry Association. Virtually Wild! Texas is a partnership of the Coastal Prairie Conservancy, The Nature Conservancy in Texas, the Region 4 Education Service Center and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

2019 - The 9 Natives Showcase Garden was awarded the Proud Partner Award. Awarded by the Mayor’s Proud Partners Program. The 9 Natives Showcase Garden is a partnership of the Coastal Prairie Conservancy, Houston Museum of Natural Science, the Garden Club of Houston and Clark Condon.

2018 - Mary Anne Piacentini was awarded the Flo Hannah Lifetime Achievement Award. Awarded by Coastal Prairie Partnership. 

2018 - Mary Anne Piacentini was awarded the Terry Hershey Bayou Stewardship Award. Awarded by Bayou Preservation Association.

2018 - Katy Prairie Conservancy was awarded Honor of Recognition for the Buller Wetlands Project. Awarded by Keep Houston Beautiful at the Mayor’s Proud Partner Awards.

2018 - Katy Prairie Conservancy was awarded the Parks and Natural Areas Award - Projects under $500,000 for its work on the MD Anderson Prairie. Awarded by Houston-Galveston Area Council.

2017 - Katy Prairie Conservancy was awarded the Region 4 and State Wildlife Conservationist Award. Awarded by Texas State Soil and Water Board.

2017 - Katy Prairie Conservancy was recognized as a Texas Environmental Excellence Award Finalist for environmental education (Prairie Builders Schools + Parks Program). Recognized by Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

2017 - Katy Prairie Conservancy was awarded the Proud Partner Award for the MD Anderson Prairie. Awarded by Keep Houston Beautiful at the Mayor’s Proud Partner Awards.

2016 - Mary Anne Piacentini received the Civic Vision Award, American Institute of Architects, Houston Chapter.

2015 - Mary Anne Piacentini, then KPC's Executive Director, was an inaugural recipient of the Terry Hershey Texas Women in Conservation Award in recognition of her hard work and dedication to preserving the Katy Prairie. Awarded by Texas Audubon.

2015 - Katy Prairie Conservancy was awarded the Wild Partners Award, in recognition of work towards the Get Out Here Houston website and campaign. Awarded by Houston Wilderness.

2015 - Jaime González, then KPC's Community Conservation Director, received a Catalyst Award, which recognizes and honors those whose ideas and actions change and improve the quality of Houstonians’ lives. Awarded by Houston Tomorrow.

2015 - Jaime González, then KPC's Community Conservation Director, received the Grassroots Leadership Award for leadership in the children and nature movement in the Greater Houston Region. Awarded by Texas Children in Nature.

2014 - Jaime González, then KPC's Community Conservation Director, received the Prairie Preservationist Award in recognition of his outstanding efforts to preserve Texas native prairies. Awarded by Native Prairies Association of Texas.

2011 - Jaime González, then KPC's Community Conservation Director, received the Elizabeth Abernathy Hull Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to environmental education of youth. Awarded by The Garden Club of America.

2011 - Jaime González, then KPC's Community Conservation Director, received the Alban-Heiser Award for his work of preserving Texas's Heritage of living creatures and their environment. Awarded by the Houston Zoo.

2011 - Katy Prairie Conservancy received the Ann Lyon Crammond Award for the Coastal Prairie: Houston's Heartland exhibit which was deemed an outstanding education exhibit which best demonstrated a particular aspect of horticulture, gardening or landscape design. Awarded by The Garden Club of America.

2010 - Katy Prairie Conservancy received the outstanding achievement in prairie conservation presented by Houston Audubon.

2009 - Jaime González, then KPC's Community Conservation Director, received the Army and Sarah Emmott Environmental Conservation Award for his work to further restoration of the Texas Coastal Prairie. Awarded by the Citizens’ Environmental Coalition.

2009 - KPC was named a finalist in the 2009 Quail Conservation Awards hosted by the Texas Wildlife Association Foundation for its work in quail habitat restoration.

2006 - Mary Van Kerrebrook, then President of KPC’s Board of Directors received the Army and Sarah Emmott Environmental Conservation Award for her work in conserving the Katy Prairie. Awarded by the Citizens’ Environmental Coalition.

2005 - Mary Anne Piacentini, then KPC’s Executive Director, received the Army and Sarah Emmott Environmental Conservation Award for her work to protect the Katy Prairie. Awarded by the Citizens’ Environmental Coalition.

2003 - KPC received a Regional Award from the National Conservation Wetlands Awards Program.

1998 - Katy Prairie Conservancy was awarded the Army and Sarah Emmott Environmental Conservation Award for the organization’s success. Awarded by the Citizens’ Environmental Coalition.
