Forrest on his ranch in Matagorda County, Texas

As a member of the Coastal Prairie Conservancy's Board of Directors, Forrest Wylie brings a profound commitment to preserving the land he calls home and to ensuring a legacy for the generations that will follow. For Forrest, conservation is more than a current endeavor, it's about ensuring that the place he calls home remains beautiful for future generations. When asked why conservation is important to him, he simply states, "It's our home!"

In his role on the Board, Forrest thinks a lot about legacy. "Legacy is not about you, but what you, without recognition, give forward," he explains. Forrest's perspective highlights the impact that conservation has on the generations of Texans that will enjoy conserved lands in the future. Conservation leaves an enduring legacy, and Forrest is working to spread that message to conservation-minded landowners in his own community.

Forrest's dedication to CPC is grounded in the importance of preserving critical wildlife habitat. An avid hunter and sportsman, Forrest’s favorite place to spend time outdoors is on the coastal prairie in Matagorda, Texas in November. It's a time when the prairie comes alive with the comings and goings of waterfowl, including ducks, cranes, geese, and other migratory birds.

In Forrest, CPC has a tireless champion, dedicated to preserving the beauty and integrity of Texas' unique coastal prairie ecosystem. His unwavering commitment and deep understanding of legacy underscore the importance of preserving the land that has given so much to the people of Texas, both present and future. Thank you, Forrest!
