The Coastal Prairie Conservancy’s Board of Directors represents a diverse collection of community members that play a pivotal role in the success of the organization. Joining the Board of Directors in 2023, Andres Cabada is a champion for the preservation of the coastal prairie’s natural beauty. As a valued member of CPC’s Board, Andres brings his passion for conservation and a deep appreciation for the outdoors to the forefront of his commitment.

As the Global Director of Stewardship and Sustainability at Halliburton, conservation efforts around Houston hold a special importance to Andres. CPC’s efforts represent the delicate balance between providing a safe haven for native species and creating spaces where people can connect with the natural world. "Conservation ensures reliable habitats for native species and provides a natural landscape for people to enjoy," he explains.

Through his Board service, Andres is committed to sharing the significance of CPC's work with a broader audience. "CPC’s work makes a meaningful difference right in our backyard," he emphasizes. Many in our community may be unaware of the critical role prairie lands play in preserving native species and bolstering our region’s climate resiliency. By shedding light on CPC's mission, Andres aims to bridge this gap of knowledge and inspire others to support conservation efforts in their own community.

An advocate for the work of land trusts, Andres believes that CPC and organizations like it play a vital role in ensuring wildlife protection. "Land trusts allow us to protect wildlife forever," he explains, highlighting the long-term impact of these efforts in securing the future of Texas' natural resources.

When he's not dedicating time to conservation efforts, Andres often spends time in the great outdoors. His favorite outdoor activity involves riding his bike or hiking in remote areas without modern conveniences -- the more remote the better! A lover of colorful wood ducks and the warm glow of early morning on the prairie, Andres understands the incredible benefits of time spent in nature.

We are tremendously grateful to benefit from the expertise and deep commitment to conservation that Andres brings to our leadership. If you see Andres out on the prairie, make sure to say hello!
