Christmas Bird Count

The National Audubon Society's Christmas Bird Count is the nation's longest-running citizen science bird project where groups across the country spend the day birding and collecting data for the Audubon database. Learn more here.

We will be hosting various groups on KPC properties to spend the day counting birds.

Participants meet at John Paul Landing in the western-most parking lot on West Road at 6 AM (click here for directions). If you have volunteered before, please contact your area leader directly; if you are new to the count please email Kendra Kocab at Please print out a release and sign in advance.

Finish the day at the countdown dinner at Luby’s in Cypress. Participants will begin meeting after dark for dinner and you are responsible for the cost of your own meal.
