The Katy Prairie is home to one of the most colorful and dynamic bird communities in the United States. Each winter thousands of sandhill cranes, ducks, geese, harriers, and other winged marvels use the prairies rich prairie potholes, rice fields, and open prairies to survive the winter before heading north in the spring. Come and take a relaxed 45-minute winter bird hike and learn how KPC is helping migratory birds through its conservation efforts.
